AMD Phenom II X6 1100T BE Multitasking.?

Yes, It's that old debate whether Intel or AMD is the way to go. As you know, the i5 2500k is about only 25 dollars more that the 1100T X6 BE going by neweggs prices. But what I found intresting is that, Yes the AMD Phenom II X6 1100T BE is faster than my Pentium Dual Core e5200, but suprisingly by not that much (Esp how mine is overclocked @ 3.2 GHZ). What does that say to AMD? It's been like that for a while though, Intel Dual Core CPU's are better than AMD HEX Cores. But with AMD, you get more cores for your money. A quad i5 2500k beats the 1100T X6 BE ofcourse, but is it just speed? Is there any real benefit like to a Hex core in terms of multi tasking? Like having sims 3 and GTA 4 running at the same time, one minimized and one open? then iTunes open and IE9? Will either processors slow substantially. The AMD has 2 extra cores to run processes on so is this where AMD shines?
